Kitt-Katt's in Her Feels

2015-02-10 11:30:07

Hello lovely people!!! We've all felt really bad about something we've done before. So, here is a little something I wrote when I was down in my feels. If you are sensitive to dark things or just don't appreciate getting sad, please do not read the rest of this. I'll love you anyway I promise. So here goes it.

Letter in the Dark

Dear you,

I fell into an old trap;

A dormant habit.

What's done is done,

But my hatred remains.

I'm down on myself

But I'm only human.

I can forgive myself,

But I don't feel like giving the apology.

I feel as close to you as the North and South do.

I feel the love

Because I felt the guilt.

I don't deserve an apology I don't deserve forgiveness.

You help me, even though I broke my clean streak.

You always give me strength,

But I acted weak.

I feel a rebirth though.

He's upset and I'm unsettled.

But there's laughter and care,

I feel you there.

You laugh at my sad feeling.

My hate is peeling away.

The guilt's taught me a lesson,

In a dark session.

Here I go, on my own.

You love me from your throne.

I smile because of the justice he served.

You healed and prevented burns.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Your daughter

That was depressing, but that was life also. Just embrace it and make a song. I love you my dears! I wish you all well.

Update picture

Nothing builds self-esteem and self-confidence like accomplishment. -Thomas Carlyle

Hey kids, this is Winnie! I’m going to tell you a little story so listen up real good-like. A couple of weeks ago Kitt-Katt and I met with a couple of guys for a songwriting session. I was excited to go and brainstorm, jam, and just see what would happen but I didn’t really expect much to come of it. Not because of who we were working with, both the guys are super great, but just because all of us don’t know each other very well yet and it’s usually harder to be creative with people you don’t really know. Anyway, I had brought the booty-load of songs I have written and was ready to start playing the music that I had been hearing in my head for months.

Now let me just say, in reference to the part about not being able to be creative with people I don’t know, I was super nervous going into this writing session thing. I had written all these songs and, granted some are better than others, a few of them I was and still am really proud of. I was super scared because I don’t handle rejection well AT ALL. Let me rephrase that because that’s really an understatement. I am pretty much paranoid that people will not like who I am, what I look like, and that they will think I suck at everything. I know that’s a horrible terrible mindset but unfortunately that’s how my head works most of the time.

Anywho, we go meet with these guys and almost instantaneously magic happens! I pull out a song, we grab a guitar, and everything just magically comes together. Long story short, by the end of our 2 hour jam session we had recorded a little voice memo of the vocal, guitar, and drum parts of one of my songs. Now I know that probably doesn’t sound like some huge award winning-Nobel Prize deserving achievement but to me it was amazing. I listened to the recording over and over and over and over and over and over and over and I wanted everyone else to hear it too. I just couldn’t believe that I created that. It was so super cool to actually hear what had been only an imaginative thought in my head for so long. It was a MAJOR confidence boost!

So, now that I have dragged this short story out until it has become an emotional heart-wrenching saga, I have really told you all of this just to say that when you work hard on something and you finally see it come together in the end it’s amazing! No matter how you felt about it to start with, whether you weren’t very confident in your work or even in yourself, when you really pour your heart into something there is no greater confidence boost then when you are able to step back and say ”Look, I did that!” So don’t give up!

I hope this sappy little anecdote inspired you in some way and we would love to hear your stories of accomplishment! Post them to our Road Less Traveled Facebook page. We would love to share your victory with you! Thanks guys! We love you!!!.... but especially me. I love you the most hehehe.

Be Productive!!!

2015-01-22 16:31:33

I don’t know how to be inspirational. I feel like I can help people but I don’t know how. I especially don’t know how to help people if they don’t read what I write or can feel what I’m feeling. I’m writing for you, but are you even reading? Am I helping? Am I being over dramatic? Is this really how I feel?

– KK’s Journal 1/22/15

Have you ever felt so unproductive and not inspirational??? Unfortunately this is a feeling that most of us can get. I don’t know how to kill that mood but I do know how to keep it at bay.

Smile and Laugh- Fake smiling and laughing can release endorphins and make that fake smile a real one in a few minutes. It has been the most effective for me thus far.

Get up- Maybe you’re feeling unproductive because you are. Do something!! Don’t just sit and feel bad. Get up and do some stuff you want to do. The weekend is perfect for these little projects that have been on your mind. That reminds me, I feel like sewing.

Just try- I wasn’t feeling inspirational at the beginning of this Blahg, but for some reason I feel really good right now. It’s probably because I’m trying to make my Travelers happy and that makes me happy, you know?

Make a Schedule- I have a very choleric personality and so any list making and schedules and graphs are like a taste of candy after a tablespoon of bad tasting medicine. If you fill your schedule up with activities and stick to it, you won’t get bored and looking back at all you did will make you feel very productive.

Have a beautiful morrow my dear Travelers!

Kick Butt With a Fake Smile

2015-01-13 03:22:23

Hello lovelies. Let’s get right into it. You know those little bursts of happiness you get for no reason at all? You’re just making a sandwich or walking around and out of nowhere, you’re smiling and nothing could go wrong. If that hasn’t happened to you, I’m sorry, but if it does, remember me. I’ve no clue what these are called other than bursts. This enthusiasm just makes life a heck of a lot better, you know? Being happy and being present is beneficial to a year full of unexpected events.

A way that I like to make myself happy is to smile. Fake smiling tricks your brain into actually being happy thus a real smile appears on your face. According to teenshealth.org fake laughing causes more oxygen go to your brain and then endorphins to release and make you happy for real. So even if you feel sad on the inside, try to look happy on the outside. You’ll be kicking butt in no time.

I love you guys. Sorry for not blahging in a while, I’ve been pretty busy lately. I’m going to try to make more time for this. Once again, I love you guys.

Dream Chasing

2015-01-03 17:08:55

Chase your dreams Travelers. If your first plan didn’t work, obviously God has another plan for you. Keep going after what you want in your life. I was listening to a podcast some weeks ago but I still remember what this. I’m gonna italicize it to look fancy. He said If it has been done before why can’t you do it and if it hasn’t been done before why can’t you be the first? Well, those weren’t his exact words but you should check out the Manafest I’m a Fighter podcast. He’s cool beans!

I have aspirations for my life and most everyone else does too. Having dreams and something to work for gives you a purpose you can feel in your life. A while ago, I was reading a book called My Dream Map by John C. Maxwell. I haven’t finished it yet, but I felt as if I was shaping my future and I wasn’t just going through the motions of every day. I highly recommend that book. I knew that I was making a difference in my future.

Don’t stop fighting for your dreams to become a reality. Get out there and do what you’ve always wanted to do. I’ve always wanted to be in a band and HEY, what do you know? I really like italics. :) It makes me feel like I know what I’m doing when I’m typing.

Couldn't Think of a Title

2014-12-31 03:29:05

Always be positive. Never be upset. That is bad and gets you nowhere.    Really???

This seems to be what a lot of people think, except when they themselves are upset. I do it, my family does it and you probably do it to.  I try to be positive because knowing myself, when I’m upset, I cannot think clearly and nothing productive gets done and I feel bad about myself and everything around me.  While being happy all the time is a good thought, it is unrealistic.  There will be something, someday that will make you tick and you’ll explode. Fortunately, there is music and scented candles and other good things that make us unwind and calm down again. :)

I've noticed I get the most stressed and depressed and upset when a problem springs up. Of course, many people work like that too. It’s easy to get mad and forget the problem instead of solving it, but that’s not really solving the problem at all. Just take a second to clear your mind and get back to the problem solving stuff. Crap will get in the way sometimes, that’s how life works. Life also is the outcome of the choices you make and the crap won’t go away if you don’t beat it out of your life with a positive outlook.

If you don’t have the patience of a saint, you will get mad when misfortune comes. I know this because of personal experience. So let’s work on smiling through the bad stuff together. When I do these blahgs, I’m really telling myself what I and others need to hear, but especially myself. I hope you Travelers have cool lives and stuff. <3 Much love.

-- Kitt-Katt

Just do it!!!

2014-12-27 19:38:03

Hey guys. Chase your dreams and you might succeed. Lie around not doing anything and you will definitely fail. Don’t wait to start. Don’t be afraid to start. That’s all I have for you today. I know it’s small, but I still think it will help somebody out there in this big world full of people.

Stop the Procrapstination

2014-12-27 04:34:07

Season’s greetings Travelers!!! Just kidding, in America we say Merry Christmas. Speaking of which, how was your Christmas yesterday? Or if you celebrate something else, how was that? Or if you don’t celebrate anything, how was your day? I hope it was the bestesess.

However, during the Holiday season most of us like to slow down and push away some of the things we know we should do, but don’t. If you are like me in that you have a loooooong break for the holidays then you have all this time to do stuff, so do it! I have a habit of procrastinating. I procrastinate doing these here Blahgs. But I love you so I try to come through and do this just for my dear Travelers. Also, Winnie gets mad at me when I don’t do these.

You know exactly what I’m talking about. You walk through the hills of clothes, around the mountains of trash and walk on top of the shoe boxes. Then once you make it to your bed, you lie down and realize I REALLY NEED TO CLEAN MY ROOM. But like most people in this world, you don’t do it until you really, really need to, like your best friend is coming over or your mom is yelling at you. Or a school project and homework is due next week, so then you wait until the night before it’s due to start.

I was listening to a podcast (Manafest I’m a Fighter podcast is the best) and the dude was like, procrastination is the graveyard of good intentions. OH MY GOODNESS HE IS RIGHT. Too often we say we’ll do a something later but then never do it. What good was the idea if we never go for it??? This band would have never done anything if we had kept putting it off to the side. I wish everyone, Travelers especially, good luck. Put an end to procrastination and go for it. You won’t get anywhere doing nothing right?

Later Travelers!!! I love you and thank you for loving me too.

2 Days 'till Christmas

2014-12-23 17:08:23

Don't let anyone tell you that you can't do something because of your physicality.  I'm a girl and I have the same kind of interests a guy would have.  I'm Caucasian and I have the same kind of background a Hispanic would have.  I am a brunette and I could be just as smart as a blonde could be.  The only thing that should hold you back from doing something is not being as driven as you should be.  Don't let your looks, your culture, or your fear get in the way of pursuing your dreams and aspirations.

This isn't really long but it didn't have to be to get my point across.  Just start, keep going and don't quit your dream.  Stay strong Travelers.  Maybe on Christmas there will be some funny Blah Blah Blahgs.  I'll get Winnie to Blahg with me, and then this will be some really good reading material!

4 Days ‘till Christmas

2014-12-22 03:02:28

Hi Travelers! Who is excited for Christmas!!! I’m lacking creativity tonight because I’m tired, so read the picture and try to get some inspiration or something from that. I love you guys!

5 More Days 'till Christmas

2014-12-21 00:23:47

Hey Travelers!  I did a post about gift giving yesterday but this is gonna be a little different.

I absolutely love giving gifts.  The thought of giving people stuff and their reactions gets me stoked for Christmas and birthdays.  Winnie is just like that except like on steroids.  She will give EVERYBODY gifts.  Sometimes she gets upset that they're so small or they're not good enough.  Everyone can benefit from a gift though.  You may think that your gifts are too small and so you miss out on blessing somebody.  If the person is worth the time and effort to get them a gift, they'll appreciate any gift you give them.  It'll be like your mom putting your messy art work on the fridge.  The receiver will appreciate that you thought of them enough to put together something, whether it was a diamond ring or a homemade scarf.

This Christmas, don't be afraid or worried about what you're going to give your friends.  After all, the greatest gift was already given a couple thousand years ago.

6 More Days 'till Christmas

2014-12-19 14:00:57

It’s Friday, Travelers!  I’m starting my Christmas break today.  That means finishing Christmas shopping and just relaxing after the 25th.  Christmas was a whole lot more fun when I was younger though.  My mom and dad would give me money to spend on everyone for Christmas and I could get away with giving bad presents because I was cute.  Now I absolutely love giving gifts, but there are just some people in the world who if you give one of your friends a gift and they hear about it they’ll come ask where theirs is.  That is what makes Christmas stressful.  So if you can, when Christmas is over, just relax.  Being generous is supposed to heal you, not stress you out.

I hope everyone enjoys their holidays break and that you don’t get stressed over giving gifts.  I love you all!

-- Kitt-Katt

7 More Days 'till Christmas!

2014-12-19 03:47:58

You're shopping for Christmas presents and OH NO!!! You forgot your wallet at home and you were about to buy a really cool gift for your mom and the store won't hold it because Christmas is coming so soon and it's on sale. You go home sad and stuff. Then the next day, you remembered your wallet and you saw the really cool item marked down even more. How cool is that? You thought you weren't going to be able to get that gift for your swag mom. Instead, you can get it for her and pay less than you would have paid yesterday. This is what we call good bad-news. So when you think everything is falling apart, things may be falling into place.

I hope all the Travelers in the world are having fun the rest of this year. Bye guys!

10 More Days 'till Christmas

2014-12-16 03:41:59

The best part about Christmas is reading about baby J, ABC Family and Hallmark movies, putting up the tree and the food.  So read, watch, decorate and eat all season long. Later Travelers.

The inspirational and meaningful Blah Blah Blahg

 2014-12-08 22:48:24

Sometimes life sucks. Most the time it's the sucky people in your lives' fault. But We As Human has been given an ability called the "suck it up anyway" ability. This isn't to sound rude, but instead to inspire those of you who let others suck the joy out of your life. Let your eternal optimism 5 Finger Death Punch them in the mouth. But if this doesn't help some of the sucky situations, don't Panic! At The Disco because there's Blood On The Dance Floor. You may be Asking Alexandria later "Have I hit my All Time Low?" Even if it is your 7eventh Time down and only Ashes Remain, don't call a Death Cab For Cutie, and instead take this Humble Tip. Never try to Escape The Fate of a sucky day, Blessthefall! Just pull out your Skillet and make Green Day eggs and ham. Tell all of your negativity to Fall Out, Boy. Instead of your day sucking, you'll find yourself Falling In Reverse. Just Fireflight your way into your Manafest destiny. Don't always lean on a Thousand Foot Krutch because it's easy that way. Simply Switchfoot and have fun. Embrace the energy of Earth, Wind and Fire and the positive Evanescence of it all. Remember this, Write This Down, your friends and Family Force 5 will be there for you.

Another Blah Blah Blahg

2014-12-08 03:21:21

Or for dudes, "He believed he could, so he did". Hellooooooooooooooooooo travelers! This is a cool little bit of wisdom food for the soul, you know? So listen up kids!

I picked up the drumsticks, I was a natural.  I was in front of a screaming crowd and I just let the beats flow. Then I opened my eyes and stared at the comb and pencil in my hands and I sitting in front of my trash can with a floor pedal. I was watching a drum tutorial and it took me about an hour and a half just to get a basic drum beat. I was frustrated when I kept messing up but I was also determined and still had hope. Then, a miracle happened. “I did it!” I just did the basic drum beat for about two minutes before I messed up! This was a huge accomplishment for me. This was a big baby step towards what I believed I could do.

Everyone has stuff they want to do during their lifetime. If you believe you can make something of your dream, then why not go ahead and take action? You and I both know that we have seen other people achieving your dream, but when you want to achieve your dream you stop and think well that could never be me but why couldn't that happen to you? I've always imagined myself as a band member, and guess what? It took a lot of hard work and everyone’s crap to put up with, but it's worth it to see you guys rockin' out in the audience and stuff.

You have the power to do whatever you want to do! Just know that your future is taken care of and go for it. Even if you make a mistake here's the pros of that: You actually stopped procrastinating, It's easier to turn around when you're doing something, You've learned stuff, and mistakes are a good laugh down the road. The cons: You made a mistake (so what?). Just keep believing in yourself even when others don't. To me, that's the biggest test of determination you may ever face. Just start, keep going and don't quit your dream.

That's all I have for you. Thank you for sticking with me even when my Blahgs are all over the place and you can't really understand them. I love you for it and I hope you guys love me for it too. Please? Bye you guys!

-- Kitt-Katt

Teusd-yayyyyyy

2014-12-03 03:31:59

Long time no see travelers! I haven't been on this in a long time. I hope you've been filling your head with music and positivity! A favorite song of mine lately is "I Think I'm Sick" by Icon For Hire. They’re great.

Now let's get to business. What would you do if you weren't afraid? If you conquered your fear and just went for it, what would happen? Just think about it. Would that chick be your girl friend now? Would that homeless guy have had a good meal that night? Would you be on the top 100 charts? Probably not. I've been in the position before where I felt like I should have done something for someone but a feeling came over me. I was too scared to go do it. I didn't know what was going to happen.

Fear is what usually holds us back from doing something we really want to do. I'm going to use my youth pastor as an example. My youth group was on our way to Acquire the Fire and we saw a homeless man close to where we were going to stop for lunch. There was a Krispy Kreme nearby and if it wasn't for her stepping out and being brave at that moment, I would have never met him or his girl friend and we would have never prayed with them or have given them donuts. It was a beautiful scene and I'm glad we did it.

Besides, fear is really just the feeling you get when you know you want to do something and the voice inside your head is trying to worry you to death. So if you can calm your nerves, give your worries away and breathe, you will master that fear. So next time you see that dude sitting by himself at lunch, don't be scared. GO and sit with him! It's okay to go outside of your comfort zone. You never know what or who you might miss if you don't live a little no matter how scary it is.

-- Kitt-Katt

Way Early Saturday Post!

2014-11-22 06:19:22

Think back to a time of you doing something for the first time, like trying sushi because your friends dared you to, getting your first pet or discovering a band that you are now crazy about.  How long ago was that? How long has it been since you stepped out of your comfort zone and did something for the first time?  Trying new things can be weird, scary, funny, spicy or just flat out crazy.  If you are like me, you don't handle change well at first, so for us especially it might be hard to do something we've never done before.

But also, trying new things can be very rewarding. Like if you've never ridden in an elevator before, you should try it because it'll save you some time instead of using stairs (unless you're using stairs to be healthier, then good for you) to get to where you want to go. Doing something for the first time is good for everyone, even if what you're doing may not seem like the safest idea (bungee jumping and skydiving for example), but imagine the looks on your friends face's when you tell them the story of how you ran with the bulls.

-- Kitt-Katt

P.S. "The First Time" by Family Force 5 is a pretty cool song about, obviously, the first time they did stuff. Check it out!!!

The blah blah blahg!

2014-11-20 13:12:32

Hi there Travelers!  Here's to the crazy ones! You know we have short physical youth so why waste it sitting on the couch watching TV all day? While we have that energy we should put it to good use, even if it's just washing the dishes or whatever. But because we have this energy, WE SHOULD GO CRAZY!  Dance like nobody's watching, sing like you’re in the shower and run like you don't lose your breath in two minutes.  Let's all enjoy our youthful energy now by putting it to good use.  I'm stoked to see you use that energy and going crazy at one of our shows!

Yay! Tuesday!!!

2014-11-19 02:36:30

Hello vagabond kids!  You get it, like a traveler? Okay.

Whenever I see something that inspires me, I take a little mental note and sometimes write about it.  This is so I can always remember the moment and look back on it later whether I want to write a song or poem about it or just because I like the memory.  This is very important for everyone to do because it's not like those moments can leave you or pretend it never happened.  You will cherish those moments forever.  I want to challenge all the travelers out there in this crazy world to do something this week that you will remember forever and to fall in love with that moment whether it's sky diving or finding a pretty flower or hanging out with your mom.  Whatever you do, cherish the moment because there will never be another one just like it. Later Travelers!
